This collection of 500 bottles, unique and unrepeatable, unites two ancestral expressions of the artisans of the central-low mountain region, in the state of Guerrero: the painting of Xalitla and the mezcal of Chilapa.
The artists of Xalitla tell everyday stories and some other fantastic ones in their creations. They transmit rituals, share their dreams.
Each piece embodies a little bit of the heart and imagination of the person who draws it.
Mezcal is made with the love and knowledge that has been passed down for generations: the agave hearts are cooked in a conical earth oven, crushed with a stone mill, fermented naturally in wooden vats and finally distilled. . twice in copper still.
To paint these bottles, the artist was inspired by two stages of this mezcal process: on one side he tells us about the agave harvest, on another we can see the traditional baking process.
The soul of Mexico is found in the artistic expressions of its communities. Knowing them, appreciating them and sharing them is living our identity.
